Scope

Integrated Marketing Campaign for Wynwood Restaurants

Project

Jacober Creative has been the marketing, design and public relations agency of record for the Wynwood Business Improvement District (BID) for the past three years. The BID, one of Florida’s largest and most successful entities of its kind, supports and promotes this arts-forward Miami neighborhood that has evolved into 24/7 “live, work, play” community hosting tech and other business, unique retail and restaurants, entertainment, and cultural experiences. 

For August and September of 2024, sixteen Wynwood restaurants were participating in special Miami Spice months, a Greater Miami Visitor & Convention Bureau annual promotion that provides prix fixe menus at discounted prices. Jacober Creative developed the Bite Into Wynwood campaign’s second year to both promote these businesses and also brand the neighborhood as a “foodie haven” and one of South Florida’s premier dining destinations. 

Our Approach

Jacober Creative named the campaign Bite Into Wynwood as a cheeky double entendre that captures the neighborhood’s youthful and hip style. This year’s illustrative design playfully invokes a woman eating pasta whose streaming spaghetti morphs into a stylized, hand-drawn, typographic version of the campaign name. A limited four-color palette of bright neon pink, a Florida-inspired orange, a complimentary sharp green and a classic black was used to maximize visual impact. It’s simple, bold and eye-catching.

The design and campaign language was carried through into an integrated marketing approach that encompassed print, digital and radio advertising; street-level banners and digital kiosks; design-branded social media posts, e-blasts and blogs; and a PR initiative.

About 2.5 million people were reached through a combination of all organic and paid platforms, promoting both the individual participating restaurants as well as Wynwood as an overall dining destination. The budget for the project was approximately $28,000.
