The new Host Home program of Project SAFE provides housing for LGBTQ young people experiencing homelessness or at risk of homelessness in Miami, Florida, through volunteers opening their own homes to them. SAFE needed a logo that would express the welcoming mission, be distinctive and eye-catching, and would appeal to both the youth and the adult volunteers.
We created a logo that suggests a "geometric" pineapple (a traditional symbol of welcome, as well as one that fits the Miami tropical environs), with a "house" inscribed in its heart, alongside a friendly, rounded typeface. It captures just the right balance that was a definite “yes’ with the client, and can be used in a range of supporting items, from signage to t-shirts to their website.
Jacober Creative is proud to do our part in addressing homelessness among gay youth in our community!
