From half a world away, the iconic Marriott-owned Mauna Kea Beach Hotel saw our work, loved it, and gave us the chance to bring their legendary brand into the future—without losing its soul. With major renovations underway, they needed a fresh, elevated identity that stayed true to their heritage while appealing to a new generation of luxury travelers. The challenge? Repositioning a beloved Hawaiian institution while keeping its essence intact.

Our Approach

Our creativity flowed like hot lava as we crafted bold, outside-the-box marketing and design concepts that honored Mauna Kea’s storied past while embracing a modern, Millennial-driven luxury aesthetic. Hu-La-La! was just one of our vibrant ideas, capturing the resort’s spirit of adventure, luxury, and Ohana. We infused our full A.L.O.H.A. philosophy with a clever acronym —Adventure, Luxury, Ohana, Hospitality & Amazing—into every touchpoint, from visual identity to brand messaging.
