As a graphics studio,
Jacober Creative wanted to make a dramatic statement with a bold visual impact. We created Instagram posts using strong typography and an understated, off-white background that, of course, also reference a red, white and blue color scheme.
We turned tried and true American catch phrases into stark questions – Land of the Free? Home of the Brave? – with an American flag image morphing into a prison cell, with a purposefully flat, retro look. Mining a vein of decades of political art that in the past you might have only seen plastered on walls and t-shirts, we turned the holiday’s verities into a digital-space intervention. It’s design – fighting back!
What’s happening in the detention centers, with ICE and the Border Patrol, is just our idea of un-American. We also put some money where our mouths and computer screens are, by donating to
ACLU and
