It’s been said that we are the go-to experts for festival branding. Film festivals, music festivals, festivals for festival’s sake – you name it, we’ve done it. And while we like to confidently say that festivals are our thing, our branding for the House of Creatives Music Festival really shines.
I loved the lineup. I’m very influenced by how music makes me feel. So from a branding perspective I asked myself, 'Can I feel sand in my toes while I look at this? Can I dance in a shirt that looks like this?'
says Adriana.
The client directive for the project was to invoke a “New Miami” feel while still referencing the fun beachy vibes that Miami is known for. We initially created four brand options for HOC, each with their own interpretation of the festival and the directives we received. Our art director, Adriana Mazariegos says, “With every option I wanted it to evoke Miami clearly but make it feel new.”
Ultimately of the four themes we created, the client chose “Supa Fly” - inspired by 70’s beach vibes and thick lines with a nod to modern Miami elements. Adriana says, “I enjoyed immersing myself in the illustration and type and creating the very different themes that we presented. And I loved naming the themes.”
The scope of work included a full branding suite, applying original illustrations to all kinds of social media posts, posters, a custom website design and even festival merch. (Yes, we designed that sick t-shirt swag, don’t be jealous).
